Lip filler
Lip Filler treatments enhance shape, volume and definition while maintaining soft, natural-looking lips.
What is lip filler?
Fillers can be used to give both shape and volume to your lips. We use different techniques to create a natural fullness to enhance your smile. We define the shape of the lips by injecting into the vermillion border. This technique is often preferred in clients who are happy with the volume or ‘plumpness’ of the lip, but would like a more defined shape. We can add volume by injecting into the main pink body of the lip known as the wet-dry border.
We aspire to add subtle volume to the lips while working within the PHI golden ratio of 1:1.6 between the upper and lower lip to achieve natural fuller looking lips.
After an in-depth consultation, at the start of the procedure, we will decide on the most appropriate amount of filler and tailor the procedure to achieve the look you desire.
If this is your first time having a lip filler treatment some people find that once the filler settles, they may not see a noticeable difference. Depending on the amount of filler you have. This is because there is a certain amount of empty space that naturally resides within the lip and this needs to be filled before any volume can be added. You should see a much more noticeable difference on your next treatment as this empty space has now been filled.

Lip filler treatment can be beneficial for candidates who wish to add volume and/or improve lip definition. Our expert medical practitioners will tailor the treatment to help you achieve your desired aesthetic results.

For all lip filler treatments, we use a medical-grade numbing cream that contains a local anaesthetic called lidocaine. We never begin treatment until you feel completely comfortable and numb. All lip fillers we use also contain lidocaine within the product to help minimise discomfort during the procedure.

We always aim to keep the lips looking as natural as possible and often work in line with the golden phi ratio to create balanced, natural fullness. If you have seen some clients with more noticeable lip volume, this is usually because they have specifically requested this look. Treatment is carried out gradually in stages, allowing you to review progress throughout so you have more control over the final result and can leave feeling fully satisfied.

All make-up will be removed from the treatment area, so it is advisable to attend your appointment wearing little or no make-up. Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours before and after the procedure.
Blood-thinning medications should be discontinued 7 days prior to treatment where appropriate, as they may increase the risk of bruising. This includes aspirin and ibuprofen (please check with your GP before stopping prescribed medication). You should also avoid St John’s Wort, fish oils, Gingko Biloba, and Vitamins C and E for 24 hours before treatment.
Avoid using topical skincare products such as Tretinoin, Retinols and Glycolic Acid for 3 days prior to treatment. Contact the clinic before your appointment if you are experiencing illness such as colds, coughs, sore throat or any skin infections.
You should also inform the clinic if you have other procedures planned, including facials or dental appointments. Arnica tablets can be taken 3 days before treatment to help reduce the risk of bruising. Ensure you have eaten before treatment to minimise the chances of feeling light-headed.

These aftercare guidelines apply to all lip filler treatments.
Avoid high-intensity exercise immediately after treatment. Avoid heavy alcohol consumption for 24 hours following treatment. Do not apply make-up to the treated area for at least 24 hours.
Avoid extended exposure to sunlight, UV rays and extreme temperatures such as saunas or steam rooms for one week following treatment. Bruising and swelling may be reduced by using arnica gel, a cold compress and a non-drowsy antihistamine.
Lip filler results typically last around 12-24 months depending on the product used, the treated area and the number of previous treatments. Always wear SPF 30-50 on the treated area when exposed to sunlight or UV rays.
Laser treatments and skin needling procedures should be avoided for 2 weeks after treatment.
