Skin boosters

Skin booster treatments to improve hydration, glow and skin elasticity.

What is profhilo?

Profilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable Hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity.

With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml), it not only boosts and hydrates the skin but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue.

Profhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetic treatments currently on.

We inject Profhilo into specific points across the face, using the BAP technique. Once injected the product immediately starts spreading throughout the skin.

frequently asked questions

  • As a stabilised product, Profhilo remains in the skin for approximately 28 days. During this time, it stimulates four different types of collagen and elastin through the slow release of hyaluronic acid (HA).

This stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. For this reason, Profhilo is not only considered a skin booster, but also provides a noticeable tightening and lifting effect on the skin.

  • We recommend 2 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, with the first treatment designed to stimulate the skin and the second to boost results and ensure longevity. Maintenance treatments are then recommended every 6-9 months.

  • All make-up will be removed from the treatment area, so it is advisable to attend your appointment wearing little or no make-up. Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours before and after the procedure.

Blood-thinning medication should be discontinued 7 days prior to treatment, as this may increase the risk of bruising. This includes aspirin and ibuprofen (please check with your GP before stopping prescribed medication). You should also avoid St John’s Wort, fish oils, Gingko Biloba, and Vitamins C and E for 24 hours before treatment.

Avoid using topical skincare products such as Tretinoin, Retinols and Glycolic Acid for 3 days prior to treatment. Contact the clinic before treatment if you have any illness such as colds, coughs, sore throat or any skin infections.

You should also inform the clinic if you have any other procedures planned, including facials or dental appointments. Arnica tablets can be taken 3 days before treatment to help reduce the risk of bruising. Ensure you have eaten before treatment to decrease the chances of feeling light-headed.

  • You may experience redness after treatment, and bruising is possible which may take a few days to appear. Arnica can be helpful in reducing bruising.

Avoid wearing make-up for 12 hours after treatment. Avoid sunbathing and extremes of heat or cold for 14 days following treatment.

Avoid vigorous exercise for 48 hours after treatment. Contact the clinic if redness, tenderness, itching or swelling worsens after 3 days, rather than settling.
